New Mi-8 for Naryan-Mar
Naryan-Mar Air Enterprise (NMAE), the principal air operator of the Nenets Autonomous District in Russia’s north, will take the first delivery of a new aircraft since 1991 this fall.
NMAE that is 100% owned by the regional authorities is getting a Mil Mi-8MTV-1 medium-lift multirole helicopter built at Kazan Helicopters, a Russian Helicopters company, under a seven-year financial lease contract arranged through Sberbank Leasing. The agreement to that effect was signed in August 2015.
“Our representatives are tentatively scheduled to travel to Kazan Helicopters for the aircraft on September 1,” NMAE Deputy General Director Yakov Menshakov told Show Observer. “The manufacturer says the assembly of the helicopter proceeds on schedule. Taking into account the time it will take us to obtain all necessary documentation (including the state registration certificate, the airworthiness certificate, and so on) and ferry the aircraft to Naryan-Mar (the region’s capital – ed.), we expect to begin its commercial operation in October this year.”
