Radar absorbent materials by Roselektronika

Within the Army-2016 Forum the Russian Electronics Group (Roselektronika) will for the first time display nanostructured film-based radar absorbent materials, an innovative technology by its Ferrit-Domen R&D Institute based in St Petersburg.
“Materials with this nanocoating make things invisible to radars. Compared to the American stealth technology, this coating procedure is several times less expensive. Scope of use for coated materials may include aviation, navy, as well as armored vehicle production (for instance, as camouflage cover for the future Armata tanks — editor’s note). The field tests have already been passed”:, the spokesperson for Roselektronika Maya Tatarnikova told the Show Observer.
The Ferrit Domen has been proactively developing nanostructured film-based radar absorbent materials and has already been contracted by several defense and special-purpose equipment production companies in the interest of the Russian Defense Ministry. According to Tatarnikova, commercial production of the radar absorbent materials has been established in St Petersburg. Roselektronika refrained from disclosing primary products to be used in production for they are considered the company’s know-how.
